A DISTRICT councillor who commented about an alleged rape victim will face no action.
Philip Drury's remark was made in November in relation to British student Serena Bowes, 21, who is facing extradition to Italy after being accused of falsifying a rape allegation.
Mr Drury wrote on social media site Facebook: "Not sure anyone would even want to think about it looking at her lol."
East Hampshire District Council confirmed that, following an investigation by the monitoring team, Mr Drury, who was leader of the East Hampshire Liberal Democrat party, will not be disciplined as he was not acting in his capacity as a councillor.
He has, however, resigned as the Lib Dem leader following the incident, but said this decision was due to work pressures.
