ILLEGAL street parking could be a thing of the past in Bordon after East Hampshire District Council and the police coughed up £10,000 between them to help stamp out the growing problem in the district.

Shoppers and visitors to Bordon have been warned that they will get a hefty fine if caught parking on double yellow lines or ignoring parking restrictions, after the district council and the police agreed to the extra funding of police officers.

The new parking crackdown began this week.
