It’s all about girl power at a gallery in Alton as an exhibition highlighting the work of several women has been launched in time for Regency Week.

If you’re looking for some fine locally produced art, dear reader, then check out Freedom Through Expression on Normandy Street.

Curators have decided to mark Regency Week, which began last Friday, by showcasing artwork produced by a host of talented local women artists.

Pieces by the likes of Toni Allman, Eugenie Smit, Heather Bailey, Jacqui Larsen, Liz Milner, Pip Yenderalski, Ria Cornall, Tina Collins, Jodie Hunt and Carla Lacey will be on show.

The gallery has been a real “draw” since opening last September with regularly changing art exhibitions, unusual crafty exhibits and Saturday art classes.
