Farnham art therapy charity Creative Response is hosting a summer exhibition at its historic Vernon House Studios, as part of Surrey Artists Open Studios 2022.

Rejuvenate, which will be open from June 11 to July 7, showcases the work of members of the Creative Response community in a range of media, with a wide variety of original paintings, prints and ceramics on sale.

There is a chance to buy some of the displayed art or admire the pieces in the beautiful historic building situated next to Farnham Library in West Street where Charles I is said to have stayed on his final journey to the Tower of London.

The work developed in the charity’s studios, with the guidance of its experienced team, demonstrates the wide range of creative materials and practices its members have the opportunity to explore.

It will be opened at 11.15am this Saturday by the Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Ward, who has chosen Creative Response as one of his charities of the year. There will also be some pop-up poetry from 11.30am to 1pm, plus music from midday. Refreshments will be provided.

Creative Response CEO, Kathryn McManus, said: “The Creative Response Arts community is delighted to be exhibiting as part of Surrey Arts Open Studios again this year.

“Our 2022 summer exhibition, Rejuvenate, celebrates the fabulous work produced by our members, the capacity of the arts to enhance wellbeing, and us coming back together after the challenges of lockdown.

“We hope everyone will really enjoy Rejuvenate and look forward to sharing the work we do with visitors to the exhibition”.
