Herald readers have one last chance to enter the annual ballot for a free ticket to the Farnham Civic Christmas Carol Service featuring the world-renowned Farnham Youth Choir.

Anybody can enter the ballot to request tickets to the service, which will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at St Andrew’s Church in central Farnham from 7.30pm.

It will include traditional readings, exquisite performances from the youth choir and opportunities for the congregation to join in much-loved Christmas carols.

To enter the ballot, fill in the form published in this week’s Herald and return it to the address provided by November 24.

Each person may request up to two tickets. Successful applications will receive their tickets by post. No further tickets will be available on the door.

Half the tickets available for the service will be allocated through the ballot, which is free to enter. The remaining half will be given to local organisations and charities which have supported the community during the past year.

The service is organised by Farnham Town Council in partnership with the internationally-renowned Farnham Youth Choir.

It will include traditional readings, exquisite performances from the youth choir and opportunities for the congregation to join in much-loved Christmas carols.

Farnham Youth Choir was established more than 35 years ago and has developed into a world-class choir for children and young people aged seven and over.

The choir offers a bursary scheme to enable young singers, regardless of their financial circumstances, to participate.

The choir relies heavily on donations and is currently fundraising to send its senior choir to compete in the Interkultur Hull International Choir competition next May.
