The village of Grayshott will launch a Grayshott at Christmas season this week – promising a sack-full of festive-themed community events for villagers and visitors alike.

From the end of November and throughout December, the bustling village that nestles on the Hampshire/Surrey border will be brimming with festive things to do.

Florists A Foraged Christmas will support and guide participants on how to create a unique and personal festive wreath using freshly foraged green foliage, unusual and beautiful berries plus luscious ribbons.

The wreath-making workshops will be held in the village on Thursday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 30. The cost is £45, including refreshments, and can be booked through a link on the Grayshott Parish Council website.

Saturday, November 26 sees the return of the St Edmund’s Community Christmas Market, where 50 local artisan and independent businesses will offer wonderful treats, homewares, food and drink, all under one roof. Doors open at 10am and close at 3pm.

Ending this perfect festive Saturday will be the Children’s Christmas Art Competition winner, Amélie, aged nine, who has been selected by Hampshire-based children’s illustrator Denise Hughes to press the button that illuminates the village green and square with thousands of sparkling lights.

The lights switch-on will start at 4.30pm on the village green, with a fairground, live music and refreshments to enjoy too.

There’s plenty more to come too, such as Grayshott’s late-night shopping and Christmas market on Thursday, December 8. More details to follow.
