Alton-based choir Luminosa Voices is holding open rehearsals at the Alton Maltings Centre on January 6 and 13 from 7.45pm to 9.30pm.

No audition is required to join this 90-strong choir led by conductor Rebekah Abbott. The programme will include Vivaldi’s Gloria and Rutter’s Mass of the People.

The choir was founded in 2010 and its singers come from all walks of life. It typically stages three concerts a year, often with a professional orchestra or band.

A spokesperson said: “Whether you’re an experienced singer or rediscovering your voice, Luminosa Voices offers a vibrant musical community where you’ll feel right at home.

“Rehearsals are lively, supportive and full of laughter, and our members often say that singing with us is the highlight of their week.”

Its spring concert at the Church of St Lawrence in Alton on March 21 at 7pm will feature Joanna Forbes L’Estrange’s new work A Season to Sing and Haydn’s The Seasons.
