The sensational Jersey Boys – at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking until Saturday, October 8 – is packed full of chart topping crowd-pleasers showcasing the Four Seasons’ gripping story and meteoric rise to fame.

The audience are treated to a jukebox of well-known upbeat songs, guaranteed to get your toes tapping and leave you buzzing long after you’ve left the auditorium.

This current UK and Ireland tour is staged by the original Broadway creative team and brought to life by the talented Four Seasons cast – Michael Pickering (Frankie Valli), Blair Gibson (Bob Gaudio), Dalton Wood (Tommy DeVito) and Christopher Short (Nick Massi) – who gave a polished performance singing in perfect harmony, whilst immaculately executing synchronised dance moves with precision and finesse.

The musical, which has won 65 major awards, is based on a true story and has a gritty, drama-packed storyline that takes you on a journey to learn about the founding members’ links to the Mafia and spells in prison, as well as poignant moments as a band.

Dalton Wood fully embraces the role of notorious founding member of the Four Seasons and delivers all of his scenes with conviction. He is joined by a whole host of new cast members, who were triumphant in giving a flawless debut performance.

Stand out performances were given by Michael Pickering, who captured Frankie Valli’s iconic falsetto with skill, seamlessly switching between registers to deliver a powerful soaring falsetto and a rich lower range, and Blair Gibson, who gave an outstanding heartfelt performance.

The quartet’s sound really elevated and came to life during Cry for Me, as their rich harmonies were blended to perfection. They then went on to perform hit after hit, starting with Sherry, followed by Walk Like a Man and Beggin’, and Big Girls Don’t Cry, which featured on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.

The show-stopper was December 1963 (Oh What a Night). It’s such a classic tune that it was repeated as the finale, which the audience couldn’t help but clap, dance and sing along to.

This musical is an outstanding feel-good show and well deserving of the rapturous applause and standing ovation it received. With so many iconic songs, it’s easy to see why the Four Seasons sold 100 million records worldwide and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the best-selling musical groups of all time!

Performances take place Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm with matinee performances at 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The performance time is two hours and 30 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.

The show is recommended for over-12s and contains genuine New Jersey language which may not be suitable for younger audiences.

Tickets are available from £13 here.
