ALTON Town Council has called an extraordinary full council meeting for next week to ratify the planning committee findings in respect of the reserve matters application for Alton’s new sports centre.

It will take place at the Town Hall next Wednsday, November 8.

The planning and transportation meeting will start at 7pm on that same evening, and any members of the public wishing to make representations in relation to the sports centre application will have an opportunity to do so.

It will be followed by the extraordinary meeting, called in response to public pressure for all town councillors to vote, on behalf of the wards they serve, on the town council’s response to the sports centre application before it goes to East Hampshire District Council’s planning committee.
