A SUSTAINABLE clothing company has launched a new t-shirt to raise funds to fight the coronavirus crisis.
Launched by Russ Avery and Tim Brown, Farnham-based Renewabilitee offers “bold, new sustainable and ethical fashion” and hopes to promote an environmentally-friendly mindset towards fashion.
But the duo have also created a new piece of clothing – with a more charitable purpose.
“Tim and I decided to launch this campaign because we wanted to do anything we could to help out during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Russ.
“We decided one of the easiest things we could do would be to create a new t-shirt design from our small, sustainable and ethical fashion label, and then donate 100 per cent of the profits on sales of that design to charity.”
The team created three designs, running a social media campaign to let the public vote and select their favourite.
The winning design then went live on the Renewabilitee site, where they said 14 t-shirts were sold within the first couple of hours.
“Even if we manage to raise only a couple of hundred quid or something, we know every penny will help out the NHS and its wonderful, selfless employees,” said Russ.
Profits from the sale of the ‘Stronger Together’ t-shirt will be donated to the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
More than £16 million has already been raised through the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
