AN ONLINE auction led by Farnham Rants founder Lee Moran has to date raised more than £1,400 for the Farnham Coronavirus Support Fund – which has also been boosted by a £1,000 donation from the Farnham Round Table this week.

The auction, which can be found online at www.facebook.com/pg/FarnhamSupportAuction, will run until the end of June – offering a wide array of lots donated by local businesses each day.

In the past few days alone, these have ranged from £40 of Mexican food courtesy of Hermanos Tacos, a driveway clean-up by the Tile Boutique, a trial glider flight at Lasham, an NHS-themed hat designed by The Borough milliner Beverley Edmondson and a 12-month gym membership at Anytime Fitness worth £400.

Farnham Round Table has also donated £1,000 of its Farnham fireworks and charity bike ride proceeds to the Farnham Coronavirus Support Fund.

Nick Shelton, Round Table chair, said: “We were very happy to make a donation to the fund.”

The fund has raised more than £31,000 so far to support those who, through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times because of the pandemic.

Launched in May, it has so far answered 38 requests for help with everything from white goods to school equipment, giving out small grants totalling more than £6,000.
