Fernhurst Horticultural Society held its autumn show on Saturday, September 10 and members produced an array of fruit, flowers and vegetables, despite the very difficult weather conditions for gardeners.

There were children’s entries too – including a scarecrow, flapjacks, cake and eggs from chickens. Before the presentation of the prizes, a minute’s silence was held to honour the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The society is holding a plant stall outside the Fernhurst Hub from 10am to 12pm today (Saturday).
