THE Herald Festival of Transport will come of age tomorrow - with more than 100 pristine vintage, veteran, classic cars, military vehicles, motorbikes and scooters set to descend on Farnham for the event’s landmark 18th anniversary.

For the first time in the event’s history, The Herald has teamed up with Farnham Weyside Rotary Club to produce a bigger and better Festival of Transport - all in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

A bumper line-up of vehicles dating from 1904 up to 2016 will line-up in Upper Hart car park in Farnham from 9am until around 3pm, and will this year be complemented by an array of food and entertainment, live music and numerous stalls and exhibitors to keep visitors of all ages happy.

These include a funfair by Wall & Sons, jazz band Alegria, three-piece skiffle gypsy punks The Missy Nelson Band and Mike Moore, the Tony Fresko ice cream van, Cupsmith Coffee, Flaming Tucker burger van, Farnham Time Bank, Angel face painting, and disabled motorcycle racing team Talon Racing.

The judging of vehicles will start at 10am - for the best vintage car (up to 1935), classic car (up to 1945), car (after 1945), best overall, best motorcycle and a special cup for the most sponsorship money raised - followed by a parade around the town at noon.

The Herald would like to thank the event’s main sponsors Loo’s for Do’s, The Petersfield Cobbler, Vintage Vogue and Altis, as well as the Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice for their support.
