ALTON Town Council is to host an East Hampshire Fieldfare information event on Monday designed to flag up a LEADER funding programme that could benefit service providers.

Fieldfare is a community-led not-for-profit partnership, established in 2007, to develop a local development strategy. The partnership manages the Fieldfare LEADER programme which has currently secured more than £1.6m of EU funding to support local projects in the Winchester, Eastleigh, East Hampshire and Havant local authority areas.

Funding is available for capital items, such as equipment, machinery, tools and improvements to buildings used for business, and the LEADER fund could provide up to 40 per cent of the agreed costs.

An open invitation has been extended to anyone who runs visitor accommodation, a visitor attraction, a community social enterprise/organisation or rural, farm or forestry service to attend the information event from 6.30pm-8pm at Alton Town Hall.
