A FIRE caused serious damage in the Lasham Gliding Society clubhouse early in the morning of September 29.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and nobody was inside at the time, but the clubhouse remains an investigation site.

The society said: “The area including the clubhouse, the bunk house and the Brown Elephant has been cordoned off until further notice. We do intend to maintain regular flying and maintenance operations, and will be setting up an alternative office.”
