A NEW £450,000 workshop at the Mid-Hants Railway went up in flames on Monday.

A 999 call, made at 6pm by railway workers, said a fire had started in a workshop containing acetylene cylinders. Eight pumps were mobilised to the scene, alongside the line at Ropley station.
