Alton FlavourFest - the town’s annual free food and drink festival - will be held in the Public Gardens on September 7 from 11am until 4pm.

There will be 60 food and drink stalls, street eats, cookery demonstrations from The Natural Cook Company, cocktail, West Country cider and Hampshire real ale bars, local liqueurs, family-friendly fun and live music on the bandstand.

World offerings will include Spanish paella, Thai and Greek treats, and South African barbecue food.

The festival will showcase food and drink by leading producers from across south-east England, including hand-made chocolates, cakes, bakes, artisan desserts, freshly baked bread, charcuterie, pies, chilli sauces, jams, chutneys, cheeses and oils.

Children can enjoy face painting, biscuit decorating and free crafts.

Festival organiser Jenny Atherton, who is co-ordinating the event with a team of local volunteers, said: “FlavourFest is a fantastic celebration of food and drink.

“It’s a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a brilliant day out, while giving local producers the opportunity to showcase their incredible creations to visitors.”
