EAST Worldham’s Dine Around is not only a fun way to raise money for the village church but people get to eat good food shared with friends at surprise venues.
This year, five couples around the village hosted twenty-five guests, who paid £18 per head for a three-course meal, visiting different hosts to eat each course. They were told the address at which the starter was to be served, but not the address at which the other two could be found until they had finished the first course.
On the way round the “foodie” trail the guests, either couples or singles, met many people from the parish and the event was organised so they didn’t bump into anyone from a previous course.
The fun evening culminated with everyone being welcomed by John and Gill at The Three Horseshoes pub where they had an opportunity to share their experiences and have a final drink together.
And it was a case of "cheers!" all round – because this year the event raised £480 toward repairs on St Mary’s Church.
