A TASTE of France came to Alresford when the town’s French market returned for the first time since 2019.

The six-hour event on April 17 was blessed with sunshine, attracting a surge of customers until lunchtime and a steady stream in the afternoon. It was organised by Muriel Charles of France at Home and comprised six stalls in Broad Street selling bread, croissants, cakes, cheese, nuts, pate, clothes and hot meals.

New Alresford Town Trust chair Robin Atkins said: “We needed to lift everyone’s spirits after the sufferings inflicted by Covid and the French market did just that.”
