ALTON’S Tenth annual ‘Glamfest’ saw the usual mix of big colourful hair, sparkly gear and platforms for a night of 70s revelry.

Hosted last month by Alton Community Association at the town’s community centre, Glamfest provides an opportunity for people who enjoy this genre of music to step back in time.

This year’s event raised £300, which has been used to buy a gazebo for the Alton Community Association to use for all the outdoor events it attends during the summer months.

It brings the total raised over the past 10 years to £3,800.

Alton Community Centre manager Maria Elliott has expressed grateful thanks to Ian and Diane Urquhart “for their continued support and all the effort that they put into organising the popular event, to members of Glamnation, and to the local people who turned out once again to enjoy the evening”.

The next fundraising Glamfest disco has been pencilled in for April 14 next year.
