Seven gardens are opening in Froyle for the National Garden Scheme on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 5.30pm.

Drought followed by plenty of rain has meant the village’s flowers are coming out two weeks earlier than last year, with roses, peonies and sweet peas blooming to perfection.

Froyle’s church will be open to show off its recent refurbishment plus examples of its historical collection of embroidered vestments.

Froyle Gardening Club will have a plant stall and there will be tea and cake at the village hall in Lower Froyle.

Parking for the event, which supports various cancer charities, is on the recreation ground in Lower Froyle.

Tickets cost £10 (under-12s free) and can be used on both days.

Book at www.NGS.org.uk or pay on the day at the village hall.
