THE application to install an anaerobic digester plant at Selborne Brickworks has been granted permission.
But the decision by Hampshire County Council has been described as "planning gone mad" by one county councillor.
The result means that applicant Patrick Benham-Crosswell, director of Selborne Brickworks, will be able to reopen his business, which closed in 2009 due to high gas bills.
Mr Benham-Crosswell said he is "delighted" but added that he was aware of people's worries.
