Greggs wants to turn the Alton High Street building occupied by the NatWest bank until October 19, 2023, into a branch of its takeaway bakery chain.
Newcastle-based Greggs - which boasts 2,500 shops and 32,000 employees - has applied to East Hampshire District Council to convert the 38 High Street premises.
It has asked for planning and advertisement consent to alter the shopfront - including painting the window frames grey and installing a wooden door suitable for customers in wheelchairs - change the signs to Greggs ones and add vents for an internal air conditioning unit.
The reference number is EHDC-25-1120-ADV and the consultation ends on November 5.
