THE picture shows the the official presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries of the Oscars-themed ‘Night at the Movies’ concert, performed by the Alton Concert Band in association with the Surrey Border Movie Makers at Alton Maltings in March.

The presentations were made in front of the Alton Concert Band’s regular home by (from left) Patric Hinde (Alton Concert Band) giving to Charli Quay-Barnham (Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice), to Dean Phillips’ mayor of Alton’s Community Fund from Nick Wright (manager of the Maltings,) and to Andy Light (Alton College music department) from Esther Lammershaag (Alton Maltings).
