Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a violent incident involving weapons in Odiham on Sunday afternoon.

They were called to reports of a disturbance involving two groups of people at a site off the A287 Farnham Road, near the Chalky Lane junction, at 3.15pm.

A police spokesperson said: “A man sustained an injury to his head from what we believe to be a strike with a crowbar. A man at the scene was also reportedly seen with a gun. We believe all the parties involved are known to each other.”

A 40-year-old man from Odiham was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated vehicle taking and affray.

A 25-year-old man from Odiham was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.

Police were still at the scene on Monday. They want to hear from anyone who drove past the incident. Anyone with information should call 101, quoting Operation Timely or reference 44230411773,
