Pantomime fun will come to the Haslemere Hall on Friday (January 13) when the Haslemere Thespians stage their first performance of Dick Whittington.

A spokesperson for the Haslemere Thespians said: “Our panto this year will be the ever-popular Dick Whittington, the classic tale of Dick and his cat who set out for London seeking their fortune.

“Once there, Dick gets a job working for Alderman Fitzwarren, and meets his daughter Alice, the dame, Sarah the cook and her lazy son Jack, while King Rat passionately pursues Dick on his adventures in order to steal his fortune.

“This pantomime has real charm, as well as plenty of knockabout comedy, with lots of fun for all.”

The show is written by Ben Crocker and directed by Kim Seymour, with musical direction by Chris Snelling.

The talented cast of Haslemere Thespians, which includes both seasoned actors and newcomers, is excited to bring this classic story to life. It will feature plenty of audience participation, cross-dressing, catchy tunes, hilarious jokes and true love.

There are performances on Friday at 7.30pm, on Saturday at 2.30pm and 6.30pm, on Sunday at 11am and 3pm, on January 20 at 7.30pm, and on January 21 at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.
