A NEW directory that aims to get people in the Alton area more active and involved in exercise is to be launched this month.

The Active Alton Directory is a booklet that will provide a comprehensive listing of all the recreational activities and opportunities in and around Alton, from zumba to archery, and walking to golf.

The Active Alton Working Group behind the publication hopes it will be particularly helpful for those who do not have access to the internet or use it too much.

The launch will take place on Monday (December 13) at Alton Library attended by Alton town mayor Pam Jones and Stuart Sharpe, national disability champion for the trampoline.

The directory is free and will be available at Alton Library, doctors’ surgeries, Alton Community Centre and other public spaces.
