ALTON’S Cardiac Rehab Centre has issued a heartfelt plea to those using Everyone Active’s new sports centre not to use its car park and not to block the access road and/or entrance to its site.
In an open letter to the Herald, Rehab chief executive officer Sarah Quarterman urges neighbouring sports centre users to respect the vulnerability of those needing to access the rehab facility.
She believes that because of pressure on parking – especially while the old sports centre is being dismantled – some drivers are parking irresponsibly.
Mrs Quarterman said: “We are open 12 hours a day and there are around 600 people using the rehab centre each week, many of whom are vulnerable and elderly, and who need to be able to park, or be dropped off, close by.”
According to contracts manager David Love, Everyone Active (EA) is in discussion with the rehab centre and has communicated these concerns to its members.
