STUDENTS from Alton College are amongst those in the wider HSDC (Havant and South Downs College) family to have received good news about their higher education applications.

Students across all three campuses have applied to a diverse group of universities and courses, with 12 receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge, in subjects ranging from experimental psychology to mathematics, history and geography.

Among them are James Brand, mathematics (Peterhouse, Cambridge), Sebastian Cawte, computer science (Churchill, Cambridge), Jessica Knight, experimental psychology (St Hilda’s, Oxford), Katherine Lai, history and politics (St Anne’s, Oxford), Aidan Luker, French and beginners Portuguese (Christ Church, Oxford), Emily Morgan, geography (St Anne’s, Oxford), Toby Morris, PPE (St Hilda’s, Oxford), Zoe Offen, history and English (Pembroke, Oxford), Holly Plater, history and Spanish (Merton, Oxford), Beth Scott, law (St Edmund Hall, Oxford), Alex Teeuw, geography (Kings, Oxford) and Benjamin Tweedle, mathematics (Churchill, Cambridge).

In addition, Morgan Rixon, a Level 3 biomedical science student has been offered a place at Harper and Keele Veterinary School, while 59 of the 64 students who applied for psychology courses have received offers, as have 19 of the 53 adult access, BTEC and A-level students who applied for nursing courses.

To date, 239 students have received offers from Russell Group and other top ranked universities, while others are still waiting to hear back or are exploring degree and higher apprenticeships which offer increasingly dynamic opportunities.
