MORE THAN 60 young ghouls and their freaky families arose for the first ever Hallowe’en Spooktacular junior parkrun at Bordon’s Hogmoor Inclosure last weekend.
The hard work of volunteers paid off as the 2km course looked suitably ghostly, decorated with spiders, bats, cobwebs, skeletons and ghouls.
Eerie event director, George Longland, said: “We are so lucky to have a great crew of volunteers who either came dressed up or were willing to be dressed up!
“The kids had so much fun giving high-fives to the cheery pumpkins, being chased by the ghostly tailwalkers and avoiding the scythe of Death (not quite as scary as he sounds!).
“The final finisher to cross the line was four-year-old Clarabel, who is clearly a long-distance runner in the making as she didn’t stop running all the way round – not bad for a four-year-old on her second ever junior parkrun!”
Hogmoor Inclosure hosts a regular 2km junior parkrun for four to 14 year olds every Sunday at 9am. It is completely free to take part. For more information visit www.parkrun.org.uk/hogmoorinclosure-juniors .
