HOME Instead Senior Care East Hampshire and Midhurst has collected money to put together Christmas boxes for the elderly.

The care service, which covers the whole of East Hampshire and is based in Alton, has been running the shoebox appeal since 2018.

In 2018, 50 shoe boxes went to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and Frimley Park Hospital. In 2019, 50 boxes were given to local care homes, including The Lawn Care Home, Brendoncare, Westlands Care Home and Borovere Care Home.

No boxes were donated last year because of the pandemic restrictions.

This year, Home Instead aims to deliver 40 boxes to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, 23 boxes to Petersfield Community Hospital, 20 to Alton Community Hospital and 23 to Haslemere Community Hospital, totalling more than 100 boxes.

The Christmas boxes for both males and females will all be delivered on Monday (December 6).
