YOUNG footballers from Alton Infant School returned triumphant after winning the CM Sports year one and year two tournament at the refurbished enclosure in Anstey Park.

The Alton infant pupils competed against teams from six other schools – Chawton Primary, St Lawrence Primary, Andrews Endowed Primary at Holybourne, Butts Primary, and Bentley Primary.

More than 100 spectators gathered on a chilly evening to create an electric and memorable atmosphere for the children, who proudly represented their schools. In a close-fought contest, Alton infants ran out eventual winners, lifting the trophy for the second year in succession.

Headteacher Jayne Broach thanked Matt and Nick, from CM Sports, for being such inspirational coaches and Debbie and Maria, from Alton Infant School, for providing everyone with hot drinks on the night, making good use of the new clubhouse facilities, which are shared jointly by Alton Town Football Club and Alton United Youth Football Club.
