A FOUR Marks man will be ‘braving the shave’ this Saturday in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Ken Gowans, 61, who works at Waitrose in Alton, has always prided himself on having a full head of hair and has never before had his head shaved.
But the former postman has lost a family member and his best man to the disease and now feels he wants to do something to help.
He said: “Most people have been touched by cancer somewhere in their lives. I’m braving the shave in memory of family and friends who’ve passed away and to do something for a great cause.”
Having begun his campaign on July 30, Ken (pictured) has so far raised £125 toward his £500 target and is hoping to raise the rest by the time he has his head shaved at 1pm on Saturday at Station Barbers in Alton.
