MORE than 60 beaver scouts from across Hampshire joined together for the annual ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition.

3rd Alton, 8th Alton, 2nd Bentley, 1st Blackmoor and Whitehill, Four Marks and Ropley and 1st Bordon were some of the Beaver groups gathered at Amery Hill School, on September 29.

They were greeted by deputy district commissioner (DCC) Malcolm Vincent who urged them to have fun and do their best, adding that winning the trophy would be the “icing on the cake”.

There were ten teams, competing in six games, designed to test co-ordination, teamwork, speed and agility. The competition was marshalled by members of the Rotherfield Scout Active Support (SAS) Unit and the Frimley and Mitchett Scout Group.

In a close fought competition, the Rotherfield District Scout Beaver Activity Team Cup was retained by the 3rd Alton B team, with 1st Blackmoor and Whitehill in second place and 2nd Bentley third.

DDC Vincent expressed thanks to all those who had given up their time to help and support the event, and also the beavers, for entering so well into the spirit of the games.
