THE Teenage Cancer Trust has benefitted from £5,000 thanks to the hardworking ladies of Blacknest Golf and Country Club.

Ladies’ captain Maggie Sargeant presented the cheque to Charlotte Adams, the cancer charity’s regional fundraiser.

The generous amount has been raised throughout the year with charity days, ladies’ section events, club events and the successful completion of the Great South Run by Jill Penn, a member of the ladies’ section.

* At the club’s annual meeting Maggie handed over the captaincy for this coming golfing year to vice-captain Jo Canning.
