THE police were called to the Butts roundabout at around 8.55pm on Sunday after an accident involving a Land Rover and a Vauxhall Corsa.

While there were no injuries, a police spokesman said the Land Rover failed to stop.

It was found abandoned a short time later in a field at the junction of A339 Basingstoke Road and New Odiham Road.

A 37-year-old man from Ash, Surrey, was arrested and and released on police bail to return on August 9.
