THOUSANDS flocked to Odiham’s Christmas extravaganza to kick-start the festive season in style.
According to Odiham Parish Council chairman Jon Hale, the November 28 event was a great success.
He said: “The organisers – InOdiham, a community group of volunteers – once again provided our residents (and a huge number of visitors) with a superb evening.
“This year has seen an extraordinary level of events and celebrations in Odiham and in each case we have been fortunate with the weather. Thankfully, Saturday was kind too. Moving the extravaganza to a Saturday proved to be a positive change, allowing more people to attend and enjoy the event over a longer period of time.”
Four days later, The Bel and The Dragon provided the venue for yet more festive frivolities when locals were joined by the Reverend Alison Brown in a celebration to “light up the inn” with some beautiful festive lights.
Visitors were treated to winter warmers such as homemade damson vodka.
For anyone wanting another dose of Christmas spirit there is a carol service planned in our Bury next Saturday, December 19, starting at 6pm, which will feature the Military Wives Choir, Hart Male Voice Choir, the holy ridiculous theatre group, and even Father Christmas arriving by fire engine.
