The Liphook U3A Strollers Group chose one of the hottest days of the year to take a walk through part of Petworth Park.

Member Gwen Pate said: “Despite the warmth we enjoyed strolling on the parched grass watching the herd of deer, which was sensibly standing in the shade watching us as we passed by.

“The Egyptian geese on the lake also looked on wonderingly as we ambled along. Nonetheless we all survived and enjoyed, as we always do, chatting amiably as we wander. Lunch at the Stonemasons Arms in Petworth rounded off our exertions very well.”
