The Little Lumpy charity cycling event has agreed a new partnership with the Undershaw Education Trust.

For the past 14 years, the major cycling event through beautiful countryside on the Surrey/Hampshire/West Sussex borders has been supporting local charities, raising more than £140,000.

Little Lumpy volunteers are keen to support local causes, and in 2023 the event will partner with specialist school Undershaw.

The school is located just two miles away from the start of Little Lumpy. This partnership will focus on riders raising money for specialist outdoor play/sensory regulation equipment.

Undershaw headteacher Emma West said: “Play apparatus, particularly those which encourages gross motor skill development, is a necessity in our environment where sensory regulation is a daily challenge for the majority of our students.

“The equipment Little Lumpy will help fund is vital for our students as they strive to place themselves in the very best mental and emotional frame of mind for learning, be that academic or therapeutic.”

Littly Lumpy chairman Ken Griffiths said: “Our Little Lumpy riders come back year after year to ride our three routes around the lanes of Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire and to sample all our home-baked cakes at our numerous feed stations.

“They know our volunteers by name and we recognise many riders when they arrive in Haslemere each year for the event.

“We are excited to be working with Undershaw and cannot wait to meet their team of riders who will be taking part in the event.”

Little Lumpy takes place on Sunday, May 21, 2023, and booking is now open. There is an early- bird discount available until Saturday, December 31. To enter, visit https://littlelumpy.co.uk/
