STUDENTS and staff at Treloar School and College in Holybourne gave a warm welcome last week to the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Lord Mountevans, and Lady Mayoress Baroness Mountevans.
Accompanying the Lord Mayor were the sheriffs as well as masters, prime wardens and deputy masters of 27 livery companies.
This annual visit is an opportunity to celebrate Treloar’s heritage and to remember the link to its founding in 1908 by then Lord Mayor of London Sir William Purdie Treloar and to thank attendees for their support.
Visitors were given the opportunity to tour the campus and visit classes in session where they learned, among other things, sign language and saw first hand how the students live and learn.
The Lord Mayor and his party also visited both Evans House and Gauvain House, which is in the process of being redeveloped and, once completed, will provide state-of-the-art accommodation along the lines of communal living.
After lunch the guests were treated to an afternoon concert performed by music students from Treloar School.
