THE Whiskey Affair Festival, which started in 2015, returned to Alton’s Assembly Rooms - and the organisers described it as a “fantastic event” which included a masterclass by Shilton Almeida from Paul John Whiskey.

He talked about the whiskey being made in India and Goa which is breaking into the UK market and those getting the chance to taste it were surprised how good it was.

There were many brands for whiskey lovers to sample, as well as cocktails described by those serving them as flying out from the bar, such was the demand, in fact all the bars were busy throughout the sessions.

One of the organisers, Catherine Jackson, said: “Alton sampled a variety of whiskey from every corner of the world and there was also a photo booth and live music to add to the night’s entertainment.”

Wey Valley Radio interviewed visitors throughout the day, broadcasting live from the afternoon session.  The event was organised by Altonians, who provide bus tours throughout the south east of England,

Said Catherine: “It’s always nice to come home to your town and see friendly faces to show how well the event is going.  We’re already looking forward to next year.”
