THE magic of a summer’s evening is reflected in a programme of folk songs from around the British Isles and beyond, to be performed by Alresford Community Choir next month.

The Spirit of Summer on Saturday, July 7, celebrates the songs of ordinary folk across the centuries, from the banks of the Tyne to the cotton fields of Virginia.

Alresford is one of the largest community choirs in the country, attracting members and audiences from a wide area. The concert will be held in St John’s Church, Alresford, at 7.30pm.
