FOUR men have been arrested following reports of poaching near Upton Grey.

Police were called just after 9pm on January 6 to reports of suspicious activity near a vehicle parked in Bidden Road.

They conducted a search of the area and found catapults, ball bearings and head torches plus some dried blood and what appeared to be pheasant feathers inside a vehicle.

Four men – a 36-year-old and an 18-year-old from Carshalton, a 35-year-old from Mitcham and a 30-year-old from Hersham – were arrested at the scene on suspicion of trespassing on land at night and taking or destroying game.
