And it could end up in a march to the Alton home of brewing giant Molson Coors.
The multi-national has blown the final whistle on its ground – used for football since the 1920s – ignoring a 1935 covenant drawn up to protect the land for sport and recreation in perpetuity.
It made pithy reading for thousands nationwide in Ian Hislop's magazine's current In the Back column after appearing in the Alton Herald.
