DEFENCE Secretary Liam Fox has announced a £1bn contract for 14 new Chinook helicopters.

Described as the RAF's workhorse, the contract with Boeing will expand the UK's Chinook fleet to 60, and should "significantly enhance" the mobility of frontline forces.
