THE number of Covid-19 jabs given by the medical team using Petersfield Festival Hall as a vaccination centre has passed the 100,000 mark.

Vaccinations began on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, and the team – led by Dr Richard Kershaw and Dr Andrew Holden, both of the Swan Surgery in Petersfield – has been in the hall every week since.

Dr Kershaw said: “I’m delighted to say we have administered more than 100,000 vaccines to local residents, and we continue to do so.

“I want to express our gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers who have been helping the Festival Hall Covid vaccination programme since it began more than 12 months ago.

“From the Lions Club marshalling the recipients, to retired clinicians coming back to help vaccinate, furloughed locals helping with the admin and the lovely team making tea and coffee for the workforce, thank you so much.”
