THE Alton and Bordon branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) will host a baby and child first-aid course next month.

Two sessions available at Alton Maltings Centre on Saturday, December 5, the first from 10am-12.30pm and the second from 2pm-4.30pm.

The course will be run by a Red Cross trainer in partnership with the NCT, and is suitable for anyone who cares for children under the age of 12. Atendees will learn all the basics of first aid and how to treat a baby or child who is unconscious (breathing or not breathing), is bleeding, choking, has burns or a raised temperature, and learn about meningitis.

The cost is £25 per person or £45 for couples. There are also a limited number of concession places priced £10 available to people on certain benefits. Coffee, biscuits and snacks will be provided.

On Tuesdays, from 9.30am-11.30am, Alton Maltings Centre hosts a meeting of the Happy Daze baby and toddler group.
