NEW Alresford Town Trust’s open day on Easter Monday covered the Eel House, museum and Norman Bridge.

A total of 876 visitors donated £353 plus gift aid of £88, making a total of £441 for the Eel House restoration fund and the museum.

Twenty volunteers took part and the Eel House had its new 16-page booklet available for a small donation, plus its new information boards.

These were part of an awareness project led by the trust’s David Boddy and David Woods which got a £3,000 Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust grant.

A French fireman liked an 1893 Merryweather fire engine. The Norman Bridge, opened by Caroline Perry, attracted the most visitors, a total of 407.

There is a museum open day on June 19 to coincide with the Alresford Garden open day.
