A SOUND therapist is inviting mums and pre-school children to join her in sessions that she says will help them “bond their magical years” and beat any fears and stresses by being soothed by the heartbeat rhythm of drum.

Nikki Marianna Hope’s “mummy and me” classes are being held twice month at Alton Community Centre one for early years and pre-school children.

The therapist (pictured), who lives at Chawton and is a mother and grandmother, has already had success with her adult KK Sounds classes at The Bell House Dance Studio and with classes she holds in Midhurst.

It isn’t only drum playing but students can hum or play other instruments to understand how different rhythms affect the level of “consciousness and journeying”.

Her classes are there to not only help beat stress but to delight in peace and calm “as you they explore rhythms and sound”.

Nikki, a retired accountant whose second husband died 15 years ago, believes in facing your fears and once confronted the fears melt away.

She said: “My journey into sound as an effective healing therapy began in earnest in 2004 after attending a drumming evening run by Seventh Wave Music on the Isle of Wight while participating in a two-year energy-healing course in Hampshire.

“This coupled with Shamanic Tree Seer workshops confirmed to me how different rhythms affect our level of consciousness and journeying.”

Nikki said she has also “helped people discover their own voice, connect more deeply with their drumming, meditation and journeying skill to find their own inner stillness” through her workshops.
