Haslemere Leisure Centre, Cranleigh Leisure Centre, Farnham Leisure Centre, Godalming Leisure Centre, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Waverley Borough Council, will each host an open day on Saturday, inviting the local community to come along and join in the fun – all for free.

The open days will run from 10am – 4pm, with Mark Foster attending Farnham Leisure Centre from 10am to 12.30pm and Haslemere Leisure Centre from 1pm to 4pm, while Colin Jackson will visit Godalming Leisure Centre from 10am to 1pm and Cranleigh Leisure Centre from 2pm to 4pm, to meet and greet fans, sign autographs and take selfies.

Activities available for free on the day include: gym and swim sessions, group exercise classes, squash, soft play, bouncy castles, face painting and balloon modelling, and more.

Four professional and Tik Tok famous freestyle footballers – Ben Nuttall, Steve Gray, Rebaz Mohammed and Mo Omar – will also be showcasing their skills and hosting workshops for children across the four centres.

Waverley Borough Council portfolio holder for community services, leisure and equality, diversity & inclusion, Councillor Kika Mirylees, said: “We’re really thrilled about the fantastic range of activities that Everyone Active has planned to take place across the borough. We want to inspire our residents young and old to make the most of what their local leisure centre has to offer.

"Getting active is not just a way to improve your fitness and overall health – it’s also a great way to relieve stress, improve your mental health & wellbeing and create new social opportunities.

“It’s also very exciting to welcome some international sporting heroes to the borough, and we hope they will inspire the next generation of local sporting talent to reach for the stars."

David Love, area contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re incredibly excited to invite the local community down to Haslemere, Cranleigh, Farnham and Godalming Leisure Centres on Saturday, July 1.

“Having recently taken over the management of these four sites, it’s a fantastic way for us to engage with the local community and showcase all we have to offer.

“We’re pulling out all the stops to make it an unmissable event, from hosting a wide range of activities all for free, to having sporting heroes such as Mark Foster and Colin Jackson come down to meet everyone – it’s set to be a fantastic day for all!”

Everyone Active was recently awarded a leisure contract with Waverley Borough Council for ten years.

The partnership will allow Everyone Active to build on the current leisure offering, with a focus on fitness, whilst it supports the council's vision for leisure across Waverley by providing attractive facilities, available to the whole community.
